As we settle into 2011, we at Agora Gallery are proud to look back at the success of Gallery II, a relatively new venture begun just over a year ago. The idea originated from our appreciation of how central and busy the New York art scene is, and the realization that galleries and artists from outside the city, and even from outside the country, might want to rent gallery space to present their work in the center of this international art hub.
We have been delighted with the reception of the shows which have appeared in Gallery II over the past year and a quarter. From the first exhibition there, featuring the stunning work of Ruth Gilmore Langs, to the phenomenally successful LEGO sculptures of [...]

Gallery II will see not one but two exciting solo exhibitions this March – Marcela Cadena’s ‘Colores del Corazón’ is showing from March 1 – March 22, after which the work of award-winning Canadian artist Lynda Pogue will be featured in an exhibition entitled ‘The Persistence of Color’ which will open March 25 and continue until April 15.
Regular readers of ARTisSpectrum will be familiar with Lynda Pogue from the articles she contributes to our contemporary art magazine. These often show connections between other forms of art, such as music or acting, and visual art – a link Pogue explores herself in her own life. With diverse interests and a talent that cannot be confined to a single form of expression, this is an artist [...]

The importance of packing art properly is one of those factors in the art world which is vital but too often ignored. As a serious artist, being able to be confident that you will be able to transport your work safely to a buyer or a gallery which may be on the other side of the world is absolutely crucial. This is especially true if you work in the international market, and show your work in one of the centers of the art world. It doesn’t matter how marvelous the piece is; a buyer will not be happy if the piece does not arrive in good condition, justifiably so, given that the damaged piece would then not be what he had originally bought.
Likewise, your gallery will be placed in a very difficult position if [...]

In Gallery II you can experience Colores del Corazón, a solo exhibition displaying the works of Marcela Cadena, a Mexican artist who delves into her rich cultural heritage to produce dazzling works of art full of robust colors and enthralling emotions. To appreciate one of her pieces is to interact with the artist herself, because it is clear that she puts much of herself into her paintings, so that each [...]
