It might be hot and heavy outside, but inside Agora Gallery there’s a feeling of lightness and freshness – the result of the lively, lovely artworks on our walls. We have not one but two excellent new exhibitions coming up for you, and anyone hoping for a touch of inspiration to lift the summer heat is welcomed to come and enjoy them! The exhibitions open on July 23 and run until August 13, with an opening reception on the evening of Thursday, July 25, 6-8pm. Entrance is free and art lovers are enthusiastically encouraged to attend and meet some of the artists who created these memorable works.

Sirenes, Butterfly over Water

In Degrees of Abstraction, artists reach towards the limits of what is possible when it comes to working with forms, colors and textures, constantly reminding their viewers that there is always more to discover and admire. Employing a combination of honed instinct and the skill developed over years of careful and determined practice, they put their own emotions and experiences into the artworks to give them a moving, personal touch that melds perfectly with the more universalistic element. The result is both approachable and powerfully resonant, with every viewer given the opportunity to bring their own understanding to the viewing experience.

The works in Interpretive Realms fill the viewer with the feeling that an exciting revelation is just around the corner, enticing both intellect and sensitivity to an appreciation of beauty with their delightful and imaginative construction. Firmly grounded in technical expertise and an acute comprehension of the complexities of art history, these artists draw all of this awareness together in service of their own unique abilities and expressive desires. In this way they are able to create art that both communicates and reflects, working on a number of layers to interest their audience and draw the attention with measured yet motivational aplomb.
